HEllo - I’m Sandi Young

I grew up on the New England coast where my love of the ocean began.

As mentioned, I’ve earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Business Administration, and later in life decided to go back to school to earn a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Life Coaching.

For over ten years, I held many roles within the public education sector. One being comparable to an assistant counselor. I listened to the high school students I served, fostering a trusted relationship. Additionally, I was an advocate for my students, working beside them to ensure their graduation from high school.

Most recently, I worked for a non-profit organization in the behavioral and mental health sector. In this role I observed many trainings on the topics of trauma, resiliency, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and more.

In 2025, I published my memoir, A Legacy of Strength ~ My Story on Paper. It is because of my own story of trauma, loss, grief and not having a voice, and at times feeling alone in life, that I put my story to paper. It is also why I started this business – so that people can feel heard while also feeling they are not alone.

My favorite pastime is staying connected with family and friends.  Meeting people, making new connections and sharing in conversation is also something I enjoy. And to this day, I remain drawn to the healing properties the ocean and sun provide me.

More than 6 in 10 U.S. adults reported feeling lonely and experiencing emotional disconnection, while half or more adults said they felt isolated (54%), left out (50%) or lacking companionship (50%) often or some of the time.

Why Talk to Connect

I created Talk to Connect with the concept of building human connection through conversation. It has been said, we are connected more than ever through social media and the like, however more than ever, people are feeling alone, isolated, unseen and not heard. I’m changing the scenario so that people can engage in real conversation, not typed words.

Everyone has busy lives and sometimes reaching out to a friend or family member may seem burdensome. Advice and opinions aren’t wanted. It’s just a bad or sad day and getting it out would be beneficial. Or it’s a great day and sharing would feel good! Sometimes a sounding board is what’s needed. That’s what I’m here for –  I’m here for you. You talk; I listen.
